how can i teleport? i dont find the teleport here. an avatar told me were i am ow there is a teleport but i cant find it.

There are at least three different common forms of teleportation

1) a "SLURL," which looks like a web address (a "URL"). SLURL will look like this: "http://slurl.com/secondlife/Caledon Oxbridge/98/178/27/". Click on it in an IM or group notice will teleport you to that place

2) A "Landmark," which is a descriptive pop-up or box that will tell you a bit about the place (usually), and has a "teleport" button

3) a teleport pad or object in-world that you either touch (click) or sit on -- it will TP you to the announced destination. Sometimes it will give you a menu of destinations to choose from

You can make your own Landmarks (in the "World" menu) if you are at the place you want to remember and return to, or you can be given them by people in-world. Double-clicking on the world map will also TP you to that place (be a little careful about where it is taking you!). And, as I mentioned, people can send you TP requests, or SLURLs in their IMs to you

There is always one teleport that's always available to you. Press CTRL+SHIFT+H to teleport to your Home spot. If you don't yet have a Home location set, it will send you to a random Infohub instead. Even if that happens, at least you are out of the bad spot you were in before.

Also, it's not a bad idea to make one of the helping places your home spot. That way if you are in a situation and want to get out of it, you can arrive at a safe place where you can get quick answers to your questions.

There's a lot of really helpful stuff in this thread.

There is and there isn't. Half are helping and half are thinking he's a troll. Some are being condescending in their "helpful" responses. And personally I think its a horrible idea to come here to the forums asking for help.

He is obviously pretty lost. Whether or not he went through "orientation", we all know that doesn't help anybody new. All the info required to actually begin in SL is located here:

And nobody just starting out is going to know this quickstart guide even exists. There is literally nothing about it before you create an account, download the client and log in for the first time. You're just expected to stumble upon it, I guess. Just like youre expected to stumble around SL until you "get it". Or do like most do and leave, delete, and never return.

Which is exactly where they were pointed in the first response.  They obviously didn't read that either and why I still think it's a trolling post.

I've, personally, never downloaded something at random off the internet until I've read a little bit about it.  What is this second life?  Porno groups?  Bdsm groups?  Nothing about where to go or where to meet people to chat with?  Looking for animesh when most new people wouldn't have a clue what animesh is?

How do you know they didn't read it? They could have and just gotten confused even more since their group problem wasn't even mentioned. Thing is, Second Life has this massive learning curve. The more you try to explain it, the more confusing it gets. Then on top of that you're being called a troll when all you wanna do is figure out why and how you're in a bunch of groups you have no interest in. Poor guy just wants to drive around in an animesh car.

Second life is about what YOU want to do.
It's unfortunate they tricked you but it happens a lot.
We hope you can have some fun laughing with friends and dancing and driving cars etc etc.
The sex part is only some of what you can do in second life.
I have an old  Volkswagon beetle car and a few motorbikes. 8^)

A cheap one here that is animesh and wearable. "Wearable" is the name of such a thing because it is worn and controlled by the avatar's walk, run, fly controls rather than a scripted physics engine.

Lmao, this thread is golden! I've only been around about month myself and haven't come across any bdsm groups haha ( not that there's anything wrong with them). How the hell did that happen to him? 🤣🤣🤣. I wonder if he found his feet ^^

That’s because you don’t go looking for those groups… 🕵️

We are now, I think, reasonably certain that this poster is in fact the alt of another, rather prolific and frequently trollish forumite who was, at the time, under suspension from the forum.

So, my guess is, his feet and the rest of him went "poof."

Not reasonably certain, 100% positive. He asked around and found out.
