Materials problem.

Hello!

When i try to turn on materials in the Maitreya HUD, and move up the intensity, glossiness and environment sliders(trying to get the shiny body look)  people either tell me i look completely silver(and then i need to turn down the environment to fix it.

this is how i look, with the materials tab on, but the glossiness, enviro and intensity turned right down. what am i doing wrong if i want to achieve the shiny look, please?

I hardly ever use the shiny look myself, but when I do, it looks like this:

That's shiny enough for me.
