My guess is that if it is taking you a full day to download anything, you have a bad Internet connection. Check to be sure that your system meets SL's recommended specifications (https://secondlife.com/my/support/system-requirements/?lang=en-US ).  Then reboot your modem and router by unplugging both for at least a minute before plugging them back in again.  If you have been using wireless, change to a cable connection now. Check all cables to be sure that they are connected properly and that at the cat hasn't beem chewing on them.  If you are still having trouble, call your local ISP for assistance.

Hello body. I am not sure if you mean that you can't downloand (and install SL) or you have problems when you are in world (it takes long time to load everything you see arround and maybe your avatar - stuff). If it is the second we had inventory server maintenance, something seems that has been completed now. Next time check out this page for updates:

If the problem wasn't only today but  always or last period, obviously is relative with your internet connection.

To be honest if your download speed is that slow, you are going to have even more problems running SL than you are downloading it.
