Those few apps are nice, but they really are disappointing if you expect to do anything in world. Here's a description of the one for using with Android phones, for example ....

"Mobile Grid Client is a Second Life messaging client for Android powered devices like the Motorola Droid, the Samsung Galaxy S (I9000), Galaxy Tab, the Google Nexus One and a lot of other devices (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Android_devices).

  • Local chat and instant messages - converse with your friends, groups or someone else.
  • Teleport to other regions and nearby avatars.
  • Region map with accurate positions of other avatars.
  • Profiles - look at your own and others profiles.
  • Designed with usability in mind - simple and intuitive to use, tap chat and instant messages to get more information about the sender.
  • The unique always on feature - stay logged in while answering a phone call or carrying the phone in your pocket.
  • and much more..."

"Much more" does not include actually seeing anything in world.  These apps are handy tools for doing business in world, but not for actually going there and having a visual experience.  They are great if you are running an in world businss and need to keep track of inventory or send IMs and group messages.  Otherwise, they are like wandering through SL with a Seeing Eye dog.
