When you say that you're trying to add bodies/heads/clothing to your avatar what method are you using?  By default SL will detach an attached object if you attach something else to the same attachment point unless you use the Add option in the right click menu (as opposed to choosing Wear or double clicking the object in your inventory).

Agreed, please do not change the post to something meaningless. If other people experience the same issue in the future, they won't be able to benefit from the helpful answers from the community members.

Yeah in hindsight that would have been the smart thing to do, although since the OP obliterated not only the content of the post but the title it's probably not going to show up in many search results.
