Hello! I am a researcher at Old Dominion University in Virginia, US, studying user motivations and experience in a real-life virtual word, Second Life. We are looking for online survey participants who are:

1) current active SL users

2) over 18 years old and

3) can read and write in English (because the survey is written in English)

The online survey will take approximately 10 to 15 minuets to complete. No identifying information (e.g., participants names, address) will be collected. If you would like to participate in the survey, please visit https://odu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bCITP3G5iIsI1dc. Survey password is 1004. Information about the survey with the consent form is attached on the first page of the survey. Thank you!

You really should overthink the way how you configure this survey. You obviously didn't consider that you might also have participants who are in SL because they deal with all kinds of health issues, e.g. visual restrictions. So your "attention check" is not benefitting you at all. And if you share a link, make sure you don't mess it up with the point at the end of your sentence.

Hello fellow lab rats, how exciting to be perpetually under the microscope, what a delightfully weird and strange cohort of people we must represent.

I often wonder what the information gleaned from these studies will be used for, how it will end up being cited or sensationalized in ways counter to our interests, both as users of a SL and out in the real world.

DO NOT FILL IN SURVEYS ABOUT YOUR SL - THEY NEVER HAVE YOUR INTERESTS AT HEART
