Hmm..Why? It's totally different and more pleasurable to experience something than to just imagine how it might be by looking at sprites.

Yes it is. But actual abuse, not a "scene" is not pleasurable.

@Bagnu could we just stop talking about this ... stuff?
As I said in a previous post, I don't care if you are in this landscape but have respect for my individuality and don't throw it in my face.
The post is about something else and even if the topic you are chucking here might be connected in some way I don't see why you have to keep talking about things that may not even be shared by me and many other users, you are completely out of the main topic.

As far as I can see, Rowan has done nothing against the TOS. She was simply making a point. And valid one in my opinion.

My point being, threads go off topic all the time.  That's how it goes.  Just report everyone's posts that you don't like as you do ALL the time and let them mods sort it out.   Just because YOU tell someone to.stop, doesn't necessarily mean they will.  You don't own the thread.  I'll agree the last few.posts have been way off topic but it's not YOUR job to police people... Just keep slapping that report button as usual.

<Walks into thread, looks around, reads everything, and starts tapping my finger on the table pondering, yes pondering what to say here... a few minutes later...>

Ok, I am gone for a little bit and miss all the... interesting... things again from time to time. Well I do have a few things about what has been discussed and debated about so far, including the off topic replies (of course), but I think I will limit it to just two things for now. One, the original post (which is a interesting topic)... I myself have never sent out a random friend invite in my life (and I run with a male Avatar), and I do not believe I have gotten too many of them either in turn (thankfully). So I am actually blessed to not be hearing that annoying "Dinging" sound every few minutes or so, except for the stores of course (which hopefully should calm down a bit now as Christmas is over).
Being a bit "old school" in RL, I tend to view such friend invites like RL friends in a way... it takes time and communication, and even then sometimes it can be trying as wires of speaking can get crossed sometimes. Just throwing out a friend invite in SL without talking sensibly, respectfully, and intelligently to the person in question first is sorta akin to standing in front of Walmart and handing out a card with your phone number on it and begging to "be my friend... please". While I will in no way ignore said person in SL that sends me a blind friend invite (unless I know he/she is a asshat), I do sorta consider it akin to putting the cart before the horse too ya know?
Now as to my second, hopefully shorter point (lol), I do not know you @Tama Suki, nor do you know me, so I of course do not know how much experience or knowledge you actually have in gaming forums, specifically this one in SL here. However as has been pointed out by the ever great Rowan, such a rigid hard line set in stone control of what is posted in any forum topic is not something that can be controlled by you, or anyone (besides the Moderators), nor should it be. Yes, they can be derailed at times, in many funny ways actually, but at the end of the day the only thing you can control is yourself, no one else.
So for some very unsolicited advice from a old man, if you happen to see such a thing happen in a post YOU create, just ask nicely if it could be brought back on track (without putting anyone out there specifically too mind you), and THEN lead by example by asking a question about the post topic you created if that helps. I have done this myself, and while I was shot down (legitimately so), all one can do is to try or maybe even "Do or do not... there is no try. - Yoda". I hope this helps. Oh, and as far as the virtual sex stuff goes, here is some simple advice too that carries over nicely into RL as well.
Don't knock it unless you try it lol. It may not be for everyone, but has been said here by some very experienced and wise people, it can have merit in many ways. Of course, if you don't want to try it Tama that is very cool too! 👍 But as my Dad used to say, and which I didn't really get till much, much older lol, the only way to truly understand something is to just dive in with both feet and try it out yourself. And hopefully thereby gain wisdom from it. Anywho, that's about it on this end... now I think its time for some more coffee... 😁

Peace...

Thanks for reminding me of the fresh pot I made. 💨

Anytime Silent, glad to help... <Raises cup in salute to Silent>

But otherwise a bit... ya know, I actually don't know whether to be sad, disappointed, or down right upset here. There are a ton of truly awesome, wise, helpful, and kind people here Tama, and Rowan is one of them... not to mention being strong willed and says what she means. But man not giving a damn about her, or anyone in general? Way to make lemonade out of a perceived lemon there. And no, before you assume anything, I (and no one here) worships anyone else here (if they do, let me know and I'll pay my two bits lolol), but we do know good people when we see it... and bad egg's too.

<Here Rowan, the coffee is hot so please help yourself if ya want, and you, me, and Silent will just watch... and wait.>

Peace...

Looks like someone is trying to get banned from the forum. At least I hope so.

Do you think my gif is more susceptible to disciplinary action than a random account sponsoring violent sex in a generic blog?

I've cleaned things up as best I can, but I think now is the time to lock the thread.

  • No Flaming: "Flames" are hostile or disruptive posts, or messages intended to incite an angry response. Spirited discussion and constructive disagreement are welcome, but name-calling and airing of grievances are not appropriate in our discussion areas. We will also not tolerate any post that encourages others to violate any policy of Linden Lab

When, as my alt, I've written a response to something that's particularly annoyed me in this forum or elsewhere, I've found it really helps,  before I hit "Submit," to go and make a cup of coffee or do the washing up or something before deciding whether or not I really want to post it.

I would recommend this practice.
