Next year. They said they actually hired people to make search better, too. I don't why that takes "specialists". I think the money could have been better spent on a developer that could work on features full time and not be interrupted with a payload of anything else like the rest of the devs.

Well, I'm here to tell you and Inara it's not just cosmetic. It's annoyingly broken in a way that I found super beneficial before. In the upper right hand corner search of the interface, you could just search from there and it would pull up the search screen with the results. Now it brings up the search screen but no results--- you end up having to re-type it and then hope and pray it actually works. It can take several attempts before it actually procs results that make sense. 😔

Search is hugely, bigly, humongously BROKEN. The new interface is simply putting lipstick on a pig.

It is so bad that I've pretty much given up using Search at all, and am just asking people where they've managed to find something. It's a sad kettle of fish where word of mouth works better than a search engine.

This is critical. SL is a world with tens of thousands of regions, millions of registered users, and millions of created items. A world that size NEEDS a good search engine to let users find, well, just about anything, anybody, and any place.

Seriously I thought everyone just uses firestorm anyway and uses the old style search, i do. 

Couldn't find my way out of a paper bag using websearch has a linden actually used it to try and go shopping?

I'm awfully glad you asked that question because people need to keep asking it.

Asking the Lindens to perform normal functions like looking up their own names, trying to shop, etc. might help them get out of their code cave on this one.
