Hi everyone,

I am currently looking to hire someone who understands how the marketplace works and also understands the economy of SL.

The job would be to market my products in a way that will maximize clicks and sales. This includes, creating an appealing template ad image to use as the listing image and also a great appealing description of the item and also suggest how much I should place the item for.

Payment

The job pays in commission because you would just have to create the template of the listing image, create a template description that could be applied to all listing and create tags for the listing. Commission would be 5% of all my sales through marketplace. Payment is also open to discussion.

Well, yes I don’t know much about MP but I have studied analytics for sales and other things online. There’s a thing called Click-through rate. It’s basically shows how many times your item has been shown to people and how many people clicked on it. If your item has been shown on the website 100 times that day and only 1 person clicked it, that means the click-through rate would be 1% which is bad. In order for click-through rate to increase, you need to have an eye catching image that makes the person be like “ohhhh let me click on this and see what’s all about”

MP has its own analytics, which I don't think are public, but maybe someone will correct me.

I still doubt that the quality of the image plays a large part in the overall picture given how many variables there are.

Need for the product, price, quality, number of reviews, sales of other products in the store are just some of the variables.

I'm afraid you likely won't get many takers based on commission since this is a new store, and your sales will be very, very low for quite awhile. You could research yourself the prices of similar products, and also offer pay for a photographer for that aspect.

My two cents.

And unfortunately, MP doesn't show you things like your CTR unless you manually calculate it yourself by using the "times appeared in search" report and comparing it to the amount of views it's gotten.

You could always use Caspervend's system to make affiliate vendors for your products. Then people could put them up in their own in-world stores, and you could give them whatever commission rate you wanted -- 20% of each sale, or whatever you choose. :P That could help spread visibility! Or rent adboards in high traffic shopping areas that give out a notecard with a link to your MP store? There are a few ways to direct traffic to your store without relying on the MP's algorithm alone.

I agree, Lil. The OP seems to be picturing making 5 products and having big things happen in its own, or through others' basically unpaid efforts. I hope they take seasoned store owners' opinions into account.

I hope so as well. They've been popping up every now and again seeking the same thing, so hopefully they try to take some advice. 😅 Especially since last time I checked their store, all their items are limited quantity so even if they ran a successful marketing campaign they'd run out of items unless they add more into their shop.

Thank you! I’ve been trying to find a photographer but no luck

I do take advice and also will be adding more products onto my store. Right now in the last 28 days I’ve made $22386 from MP sales just trying to do better and learn more

Well that's great! You're doing really well, then! :) Honestly just work on adding more things, the MP pretty much does a lot of the work for you so it eventually becomes passive income. And marketing through social media will be easier when there's more products to advertise!
