Makeover Help Needed

Dear Friends,

I have recently returned to the virtual world after a four year absence and wish to give my avatar a complete makeover, therefore, I'm in needed of recommendations for stores that sell male skins & shapes, as well as clothing and tattoos.

First, welcome back to SL!

Considering you've been away for only 4 years, it is most likely that you know the avatar basics. The blog Stephanie recommended is very good. Given your background, probably these two tutorials will be the most useful for you:

For mesh bodies, my personal recommendation would be either Belleza Jake [SLurl] or Signature Gianni [SLurl], as these two bodies are widely supported in terms of clothing. Belleza is currently running a 50% sale, which makes their bodies very attractive in terms of price. 

For mesh heads,  two brands have the majority of the market share (aprox. 40% each), Lelutka [SLurl] and Catwa [SLurl]. Lately Lelutka has become extremely popular, with lots of product offerings from creators, and would be my personal recommendation.

For skins, you will need to get separate head and body skins. The recommendation is to purchase the body skin at the same store as the head skin, to avoid issues with seams between the head and body - make sure that the skins are also the same tone. Lately Not Found [SLurl] has become very popular for skins. There are many other options, such as Stray Dog [SLurl] and Clef de Peau [SLurl].

In regards to clothing, it really depends on what your style is. A few places for you to start looking are Cold Ash [SLurl], Deadwool [SLurl], Gabriel [SLurl], Lapointe Bastchild [SLurl], Mossu [SLurl], Not So Bad [SLurl], and Semller [SLurl].
