Group Joining issue

so this is a new one,  I work, so I get some group invites from friends at times, I've got a couple spaces to play with, so when I manage to get logged in after working a few days in a row, I click join and then nothing ever happens and I'm not added to the group @Monty Linden   any ideas if there is a time out or not on these?

This seems to happen often with offline group invitations. There are a few reports linked to this accepted jira.
