Unable to login using viewer 2

I have been unable to login using viewer 2 for over a month now.

At first it would hang at "downloading clothing" at login, then tell me I'd been logged out of SL, possibly because my area was experiencing trouble. It never was, as I am able to login using viewer 1.23 no problem.

The latest update crashes on "loading fonts".

Any answers?

I would suggest emptying the viewer cache in ~/Library/Caches/Second life/. Delete all the files in the folder. If that does not help, try moving the Second life folder from ~/Library/Application Support/ to the desktop. The folder contain all files for your avatar - including chat and IM logs - but if you want to, you can delete it. It will be recreated on the next launch of the viewer. This also mean you will have to change all the settings for the viewer to the way you want them.

Hopefully, you will be able to log in using v. 2 after doing these things.

Hello Protogenes. You are not the only user with Mac who has problems with the last updates of viewer 2. For me at first try to log in a protected land without lag like Smith or Lime or Aqua.

If it doesn't work for you you can download a previous edition of Viewer 2:

The older Second Life Viewer versions are still active on the production grid, but are not formally supported by Linden Lab Customer Support.

Of course emptying the viewer cache always helps, as Luc suggested.
