Is there a way to get rid of the alpha halo around hair?

I see almost a halo around my hair that shows up in pics and then I have to fix it in Photoshop. Is there a better way?

Edit your hair and change the alpha mode from Alpha Blend to Alpha Mask

Note that this will remove the anti-aliasing effect that Alpha Blending provides, so you may hate the look of Alpha Mask

It is the only way though.

I'm not sure how you are fixing it in Photoshop, but generally the way I do it if the haloing is bad is to take one picture with hair, and one bald, this makes it much easier to edit, you can easily paint away the halo using a mask by layering the 2 images.

OH! I didn't think of that! I usually just lasso the areas and try the smart fill, or paint around the edges..that takes a long time though.

How about your system hairbase? Did you check it for excessive system hair?

Not sure what that means-sorry! I just came back after about 10 years so I'm a bit slow to catch up..

If the creator of the hairbase, which you do wear under any mesh hair or so, did not properly "shave" all the hair sliders, then you'll end up with a faulty base.

Some tend to forget applying a simple transparent texture. They do not cut the front part, back side, side layers and so on.  Hair volume.

I'm tempted to say "Try LeLutka's demos and see what I mean..."
