How to add textures?

i installed a new item from the market. i got it in a box and i unboxed it. and i got a shape and texture, i know how to wear the shape but how do i add the texture to the shape??

A shape describes the measurements of your avatar: armlenght, headsize ..... 

There are no textures involved, its only numbers.

Only skins use textures. Usually you get skins in different colors or makeups but never the textures to apply. It is premade skins to wear.

The texture might be a photo of how the shape will look when you wear it?

The texture you recieved probably was just a photo of the shape you bought.  Many merchants include product photos in their packaging.  You might also have recieved a notecard that will tell you what skin was used to make the shape so that your finished result will look more like the photo.  It is the marriage of a skin and shape that make a good looking avatar.  Not all skins and shapes work well together.  So finding out what skin was used is very helpful information.
