Making changes to peoples actual chats

I do not like the idea that people can alter what you actually say in a chat to cause problems and drama yes I block them but what if a report gets sent to secondlife on somthing you send to someone then they alt it that is not right or fair especially if you get band for it?

I'm pretty sure that Linden Lab also keeps a copy of conversations for a period of time so they'll have an unaltered record.
