Second Life and all of its websites were working fine....until Linden Labs did maintenance.

I have always wondered how LL always seems to make things worse almost every time they perform maintenance. After 18 years, you would think they had this resolved and were able to perform a much smoother maintenance experience. Now they have to do another maintenance to fix the first maintenance which is quite common and just sad. This is the norm when it shouldn't be.

Thanks for coming to my mini Ted Talk.

Reminds me of the olden days when they'd update the entire grid at once by taking the whole thing offline for (if we were lucky) 2-3 hours every Wednesday. Then every Thursday there would be loads of problems, and then everything would be offline again all day Friday, while they tried to fix what they broke.

From AWS

1:00 PM PDT We continue to investigate the issue affecting network connectivity within a single Availability Zone (usw2-az2) in the US-WEST-2 Region. We have narrowed down the issue to an increase in packet loss within the subsystem responsible for the processing of network packets for Network Load Balancer, NAT Gateway and PrivateLink services. The issue continues to only affect the single Availability Zone (usw2-az2) within the US-WEST-2 region, so shifting traffic away from Networking Load Balancer and NAT Gateway within the affected Availability Zone can mitigate the impact. Some other AWS services, including Lambda, ELB, Kinesis, SQS, RDS, CloudWatch and ECS, are seeing impact as a result of this issue.

Still logged in and hiding.  Seems a few services in this region are not working either.  But the birds are still chirping...

Good. The sim servers are still running, then. Rezzing, inventory access, building, crossing region boundaries, and changing clothes all need communications with the database servers, so those things might not work and probably should be avoided until the systems are fully up.

Deleted AWS status; someone else already posted that.
