1 Lindal Kidd 17,891
A minor point, Carole...it's "ain't", not "a'int". Ain't is a contraction. Contractions substitute an apostrophe for missing letters. Ain't is an idiomatic contraction for "is not". The proper pronunciation for that is, of course, "isn't", but "ain't" is a long standing variant in American English. The first known usage in print was in 1749. Ain't is also used for "are not", "am not", and sometimes "have not" or "has not" Sincerely, The grammatically, but not politically, correct Lindal Kidd

0 LoveAngeL Lyre 781
Hello Tandero. Just now i read your post in forums and i answered there. About hosting now. 1)You need experience (i mean to have worked in other clubs before) 2)You need big familiarity with local chat (to be able to control it) and generally with public places 3)You need gestures and knowledge how to use them during events 4)You need to know to manage the contest's board (almost all clubs have it) 5)You need a good avatar, clothes and other accessories 6)You need to welcome everyone arrives and to be careful not to forget someone. 7)You need to read the forums because often people are looking for new stuff. 8)You need to visit the clubs arround in world and to fill applications. 9)You need good public relations 10)You need to win the confidence of the owner and the managers of the club and to convince them that you are able to do that job. 11)You need to know to work and to manage the group chat (notices, invitations etc) 12)You need to be in the club at least some days a week if not every day and especially during the events, eighter you are hosting, eighter no. 13)You need to purchase or get a tipjar. All hosts and hostesses arround get payed with tips. It's very very rare for a host to have a salary. Usually tips are 100% for you when you will rezz your tipjar. More or less tips, it's up to you. Prove that you are worth for more.

0 Morsuljyn 1
I realize this is an old question, but thought I would post the following link since it explains things in greater detail than was provided in the other answers: SL Wiki: Basic Event Hosting. Hope this helps! :cattongue: (BTW, the linked article is part of the SL Certification Project and there may at some point be an official certification test available for event hosting...at least, I'm pretty sure it's not yet available. If I am mistaken I'm sure someone will offer a correction. :catwink:)
0 MoreLuvin4U 0
You know the things that people come up with. Experience is not really needed. I learned from hands on an no how. You learn from watching people and they way that they do things. I have been working in SL now for over 2 years. I started as a dancer making tips in clubs nitely around 1500 to 2500 nitely, oh boy that was 2 yrs ago. Then in that same club I made my way up to being a host I did that for the better part of 12 months in the same club. Then ins the same club caue they gave me an opening to become a DJ on SL, watching other people come out an have a good time DJ'ing I wanted to do it too. So I commenced to download music after music. I was told by several people you can not have all kinds of things on your music unless you want to be fined or banned from SL they have to be edited. Sometimes my partner downloads an where I DJ 2 or 3 sets straight in a row. I have to edit close to 100 songs and sometimes I set an listen to make sure tthey dont have breaks or something wrong with the songs. If you see me around I have worked in various clubs in SL since I have been there just look up DJ Luvin Overlord. Am not hard to find the only guy with that name I checked it out before I changed it, Just like the name of our new sim an Club, The Blue Lite Lounge, no other in SL. Also, check out Angelus CLub Peeps. And if your new to Second Life and need help hit me up I was once a noob to and I really like helping new people and also try to help them when I can. 0 xCaroleAnnex 5
Having for ALL who enter, and throughout their stay at your establishment, a sense of common COURTESY, RESPECT AND MANNERS! 99%. These are the requirements for a host. Simple as that. That does not come with experience, you've either got it or you a'int, you are either a nice person or you a'int. Period. If you a'int, you'll be useless to any club in the role of a host. Don't even think about applying. But the other 1% yeah ok, buy a fancy tip jar, nice avi, nice hair, clothes, shoes, silly gestures, a knowledge of your viewer and HUDs, a few cool jokes maybe blah blah blah etc etc Morsuljyn's above link to the wiki is useful too, worth a check and covers anything of the 1% i haven't :)) Edited January 20, 2018 by xCaroleAnnex
