Greetings Bellisserians,

Bellisseria Parade of Homes has made some changes. We've decided to polish up our presentation to an online blog now. The Bellisseria Parade of Homes Review.  You'll find our same listings, only better.  We'll also be featuring a 'Home of the Month', a 'Place of Interest of the Month', Decorator's Find of the Week, and a special Parade of Homes video every 2 months. We're live now, but officially launch on August 1st with our added articles and premiere video.

Our goal was to simplify the workload and make it easier and more appealing to our Bellisserian residents and future residents of our community.  We are proud of Bellisseria, wanting to showcase and show off our community because we believe it's the best to be found in Second Life. - Prudence Anton

Wow, Prudence, what a service to the community!   People considering joining Belli ask all the time (both in Belli chat and here on the forums) where they can see demos of the homes, and I think this new, visual blog style will really help.  I can't believe this will actually lessen your workload, but I hope it does :)

If I remember the notecard correctly, it is sorted into themes, which will be so helpful for those wanting a quick acquaintance with Belli's variety. I really hope you get enough submittals so that over time you can usually present a variety of styles for each theme. It would be terrific if, instead of a separate list of SLURLs, readers can just click on a home's pic and TP there, as if they were running through a Seraphim gallery :)

I'm not much of a decorator (I'm tempted to put a sign out at my new log that says "Go look at Bela's house, 2nd home over!".   Even so, I may submit a couple of our homes on the strength of their unusually beautiful parcels, if you think that might be of interest.

Thank you, Niki.  I've been considering for some time, of bringing a more visual, appealing way for people to see resident's Bellisseria homes that have been opened up to the public, and to come tour them. One of my volunteer work partners, over at the BBB (The Bellisserian Bureau of Bureaucracy) @Fenella Allenoffered to host the site on her web blog forum and I immediately got to work to set this up. Yes, setting this up was a lot of work, but so worth it.  In time, my work load will be easier and I won't have to manually teleport each month to all the locations to make sure the same residents own the listed parcels on the listings.

There are roughly around 100 listings now in total, a combination of various theme types, and places of interest locations. The blog has the listings sorted by theme, with a brief description of each theme type and their own page to view all Traditionals, Houseboats, Cabins, Victorians, etc that have opened their homes. We have all theme types represented and most model types as well, with exception to the new Chalet models. I would love to have more of those set up for open houses.  Each listing has its own special name, a brief description and a photo of their place, along with a Slurl that you can directly teleport to and see the home in world at your convenience and leisure.

I have enjoyed living in Bellisseria, being a resident here and trying to give some of my time to the community by showcasing what it has and things to do.  As my blog post stated, "Our goal was to simplify the workload and make it easier and more appealing to our Bellisserian residents and future residents of our community.  We are proud of Bellisseria, wanting to showcase and show off our community because we believe it's the best to be found in Second Life." And I hope that is what we can achieve.  Anyone that has a Bellisseria residence is welcome to fill out an application to list their homes. There are only a few requests we make for listing and its easy and quick to get your place listed.

I would suggest putting the below links up at the top of the right side, or directly under the Contacts.  It doesn't really jump out where it is and so it took me a bit of skimming over that right side to see it.

Thank you, Jewell. I'll make a mention of that to Fenella about relocating the placement of the listing so its near the top. 🥰

I just confirmed that there is no sidebar when viewing it on the phone.  I do see the 'Home' and 'Archive' link from the top, so maybe add a "Links" link up there that goes to a page containing all of the info that is in the sidebar.  While the actual SLURLS are likely not going to be used from a phone, the other links in the sidebar might be.

@yestothis and @LittleMe Jewell I sent a message to Fenella to see what can be done about viewing the links on the sidebar while on a mobile device. Soon as I get word back how we can fix this, I'll post back here. Thanks for letting me know. - Pru

Thanks to all for the very helpful feedback on the design. I host the site and have modified it to put links to the Listings, Flickr and Application Page in the navigation bar so they are now accessible on mobile. It's possible to change the design completely to make it adaptively mobile-friendly and I have given Pru some options. Thanks again. Your interest and your comments are very much appreciated. If you clever, friendly, supportive people would be so kind as to review and comment on the other SL sites I host (and in those cases edit) I would be very grateful for your feedback there as well. They are the BBB Gazette  https://lastditch.typepad.com/bbbgazette/  and the Limoncello News https://lastditch.typepad.com/limoncello_news/

I love to read all those blogs and sites. You guys give so much of your free time, and so much fun and joy (and support!) for the rest of us so here is some more love 💗 and hugs 🤗 from me.  I am now a permanent citizen in Bellisseria and Second Life, a lot thanks to this great community (and I´v dragged my mom in here too and she loves GOH 🤭 ). Ready for a Jubilee?

Have you found your Hallelujah Home?

So the release of our 8th theme (Fantasy Homes) is just around the corner if we're to believe that Fall is the lucky time of the year when the next theme will be released.  But I don't want to wait that long to celebrate a little. I think we need to have ourselves a little Jubilee. How will we do that?

Well, I keep hearing about people who have found their dream or forever home, in Bellisseria. So, let's ask people to submit a form, giving a link to their place, and a short explanation of why they feel their place is the best for them, in Bellisseria.

Yes, we want to share your excitement for finding your Hallelujah Home! (read the new blog post for more info)

But what do people do when they visit your home?

When I visit peoples open houses in "parade of homes" in Bellisseria Im always curious what they have in their fridge. Something yummie or, god forbid, is it empty? What does a fridge tell you about its owner? Do you recognize your own fridge in these pics? Think about that while I increase my collection. Your fridge next?
