Sorry if this is in the wrong place admin remove it to the right locations please if so

My pet's collar is always playing up, it is an Open Collar not sure of the version as he is logged off at the moment. He stays logged online most of the time but when he is away from keys and I go to do something like capture him on a piece of furniture or try force sit him it does not always work.  Today although I had not restrictions set he could not talk in an IM except to me.  We have been having issues for a long time, does anyone know why this is happening?

If its from open collar themselves it would be advisable to go to the headquarters of open collar to ask them the questions you have they have a sim where you can get the newly updated collar and what not. if you can search it up just type in open collar it will show the headquarters. Best of luck! :D

Normally, there is an update link in the collar menu.  Not sure if there still is though.

Updated it and it still won't allow me to do stuff when he is afk, once he gets at keys I can do everything its only after he goes to bed. I was wondering if the monitor going off on his end has anything to do with it?

I used to be able to capture and sit him on objects before but for the last 6 months or so once he goes afk barley nothing

He may have the relay function set improperly.  If it's set to Ask, then it will ask him before allowing you to do anything RLV related.

https://opencollar.cc/docs/Relay

It's always a good idea to read the documentation on objects like this.

ETA.  He would know if this were the case as it ASKS him each time.  He may have it set up this way on purpose.

I just played with the most recent open-collar and from my perspective it seems like the relay is borked (yes even when it's set to auto, it doesn't seem to apply restrictions correctly.). Try turning off the collar's relay and using a separate relay HUD of known quality, like for example https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/DEM-Relay-HUD/8253254

But she says it works fine when he isn't afk.  It should work the same either way if it's not set to ask.

I'm not saying there's a bug with OC, but without delving into the source code, there's no reason to assume there couldn't be some anti-afk thing in there unintentionally.

Edit: I just had a peak at the OC relay code. If I'm reading it correctly it's a single device capture relay and it silently discards capture attempts from objects that are not the currently capturing object. This is not the behavior you want if trying to move between multiple devices while AFK.

I'm not sure how they could even implement something like that.

http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlGetAgentInfo would be how they would do it if they specifically wanted it to not work. but as I said in my edit above, more likely the OP is running into problems with the single-device capture implementation of the OC relay.

I would change line 592 of the oc_relay script

Quote

if (Source) { if (Source != id) return; } // already grabbed by another device

to something like

if (Source) {
  if (Source != id) {
    Release();
    Source=id;
  }
} // already grabbed by another device

Although, I haven't studied the code thoroughly enough to know if that would actually work, and that might cause it to release when another rlv device randomly scans everyone in the area.
