micophone is on when talk button hasnt been pressed or locked on how do you stop?

when i log in to sl other avatars can hear me on my built in microphone even tho i have not pressed talk and its not locked on either how do you stop this? as i dont want people to hear me in rl all the time also the green symbol above my avatar doesnt show either when this happens, how can i stop this?

Are you using the Phoenix viewer?  This was reported earlier today and as I recall they were both Phoenix users.  If that's the case with you, then you might want to check the Phoenix website and see if there is a fix.
