I haven't been on the homepage since more than a decade (other than if someone points out a new design). My dashboard is my landing page on the SL website.
And at home, I never log out.

It bothers me they have a updated front page while the rest of their site suffers in the past.

The homepage is the most important one to lure new people into SL.
Question is, does it pay of to redesign all the other parts of the website?
I have my doubts.
I will not quit SL because my dashboard looks outdated on the website, or the forums.

I would spend my available money elsewhere in another SL development project if I were at the wheel.
A business theme with small shops  for Bellisseria for instance, in an attempt to get more small merchants becoming premium members.
Or a better welcome experience that makes the first steps in SL easier.
Or 64x64 and 128x128 themed private islands for every premium member to rent.
SL makes the money not a slick website IMHO.

Dashboard? Why bother? I log into the grid not the website. Website is mostly useless for me. Most needed info is available inworld.

I land on the dash board if I need to, I totally never need the homepage.
Of course I go straight into SL if I want to be inworld.
Or straight to the forums when I want to be here,

I hate the eyeball one.   The others are fine, if not anything I've ever seen in SL.
