You may be able to reduce packet loss by simply restarting both the router and your modem. Just unplug them from the power for at least a minute, then plug them back in and restart everything. If you have been using a wireless connection, I suggest changing to a direct cable connection instead because you may be getting some signal loss with wifi and you may be getting interference from nearby electrical equipment. It is difficult to improve ping time, but you can try adding a different DNS server to the list that is already in your router. Many SL residents us the free Google DNS server, for example. That may help. If not, I suggest talking to your Internet Service Provider to see if they can rout your traffic to Linden Lab by a different route.
