I just purchased an island today and was wondering, when it pulls another payment next month, will it pull from the lindens I have on my account first or just charge the full amount to my credit card?

Linden $ are never used for any financial payment to LL.  If you have a USD balance -- possibly from selling L$ -- then it will pull that before using your payment method.  Otherwise, it will go straight to the payment method.
