Hi Major. There are a ton of groups in-world, many of which have sims and communities. One place to start is the Destination Guide, which lists (along with educational institutions) 10 non-profits.

There are many others, though. You might check out Four Bridges and Amnesty International Online as well.

Be warned it might take some time to find ones that are actively staffed, locations for groups like this tend to persist indefinitely once started even if functional dead/dormant.
