Not sure what you mean by "killed" your work, but I agree you need to file an AR when you see griefers and then block whatever thing they have rezzed or even just switching off particles and sounds is usually enough to not see it. Blocking is needed for chat spam.

I wonder if this was more of a rant than a question.  Either way, I understand the rant as I dislike people who feel it necessary to encroach on other peoples enjoyment for them to enjoy themselves.

If you are working in a sandbox on the mainland (i.e., Linden owned land), and you are griefed, file an Abuse Report.  You can find it under Help at the top of your screen.  Select a 'Disturbing the Peace' category and if you cannot determine who owns the items griefing you, put Governor Linden as the abuser name.  I assure you that LL takes these things seriously and they will clean up the griefing.

If you are using a privately owned and managed sandbox, it is up to those who manage it to 'manage' the griefers.  You can find who owns it by looking under the 'Land'.

 

ETA:  Skidz is a private, well-maintained sandbox.

I understand your frustration, as do most people who make use of the sandboxes in Second Life. Unfortunately all you can do is follow the advice given in previous posts, whenever this happens, submit an Abuse Report. LL are usually very quick to respond to griefer attacks such as this. 

I would recommend you try to find a privately-owned sandbox. Off the top of my head I am unable to think of any in this moment unfortunately, but maybe other readers of this thread will be able to help out and pass you some LMs.

Best defense aganst getting pushed around is: Rez a prim,and sit on it. (Or if feeling Luxurious, my building platform has a built-in seat).  Also it helps to be even further up, weirdly. i usually build in 3000-4000m hight.
