Other than making an Alt, what's the best way to separate SFW/NSFW?

Basically, the title.  I know making an entire different account is the best way to go, but I really don't want a second account. I like having all my stuff in one place.

I while ago, I introduced some IRL friends to SL. I always kept it PG so I didn't really care, but now that I'm more comfortable with the mature side of SL I don't really want them to know all about that. They are not active, so I'm not too worried. I was just thinking about blocking them for the moment since they are not very active anyway. And unblocking them if they every sign on again. Any other ideas?

Thanks

Unless you or someone else tells them, how would they know what you do with your time?  How would blocking them solve anything one way or the other?

If you're that concerned, I'd definitely make an alt.

And do not let them see you on the map!

Go about your business as normal, hide any groups you don't want your friends or the general public to know you are a member of, keep your profile as 'clean' as possible.

Thanks! I didn't know I could hide groups or my activity on the map. Learn something new everyday.

I am unsure of how to go about hiding Groups through the Web Profile (Linden Lab Second Life Viewer and many TPVs) system but the option is present in the older floaters that Firestorm uses for the Groups. Through that you can also choose if you wish to receive Group Notices and such.

Alts are my preferred route.

First off, I have "theme-specifc" kinda names for my other two alts. I can't call myself something cute that matches the personality or desires that would work for all three of me.

However, the primary reason for alts is that while I am an escort/dancer in this main account, that's the most PG I get. My other two accounts are into some serious kink (not the really weird age-play stuff (ewwww) but way out there nonetheless) and there's no way I want anyone even guessing on those other two and connecting them back to me. YMMV, though.

The real downside is that I have had to buy a few things twice (for example, an AO I really like). Wish you could tie purchases into an email and not an account. One upside is that I can funnel money I earn from escorting into the other accounts easily enough, since I friended myself, so everything technically comes out of one, umm, kitty.
