What will happen with the Linden Homes on Bellisseria start looking dated?

If I could have just a couple of things added to the stilts pack, they would be:

> A fence post to go along with the fence segments already in the pack

> Deck edge and piling texture(s) or even mesh edge sections.

Yes, there is Blush Bravin's free fence post (which is nomod so cannot be linked), as well as her deck kit, which are both beautiful and I recommend them highly.  But I think it would be nice if everyone had the Linden mesh post & a full set of textures to make decks, so we aren't all lagging regions with our random distressed white piling & deck textures & pieces.  It's one thing to put up some interior walls & texture them randomly, they aren't seen by all that many viewers.  It's another to add a bunch of exterior textures that just don't need to be so unique.

Those aren't actually fences. They are sections of railing made to fit the openings of each house in case residents who get one on the water want to block off that area outside the front door and make a little balcony overlooking the water (and so they also don't fall in the drink waking out the door). There is no fence kit that comes with the Stilt homes, which is why there are no posts.

It'd be a shame if the "old" Linden homes went, there are a LOT of secret areas on them, if you take the time to explore.

I totally agree with this. Due to lockdown in UK I've spent a lot more time in world exploring and that has included wandering round the largest old Linden homes continent. I loved the little features and unexpected finds created by the Moles and really hope many can be moved to Bellisseria.

Yes, I spent some time exploring the old regions once the new homes came and glad I did. Even though some of the builds and finds may look dated to some compared to today I had a lot of fun discovering them and thought they looked great to me (I have some pictures on my blog in a post somewhere). I don't know why I never explored more in earlier days. Some of the hubs are really lovely.

Something I've suggested in other posts is that LL could retain a single region somewhere that has one of each of the first gen home styles plus some of the cute places that went along with them for posterity - a kind of historical museum I guess which adds to the history of the development of SL over time (just as you still have some really old LL areas and buildings on the grid). Maybe @Patch Linden could consider this?

I was very glad to have these sections and be able to do this with my OW Havana, because I did indeed walk out the front door and right into the water more than once. 😂

Ahhhhhh!  Thank you, never having had an OW stilt, I had no idea this problem existed!

Well, how about those folks who have an OL stilt that overhangs water?  Almost everyone in that enviable situation wants to moor a boat next to their house, but an OL home deck is very high above water level, no matter what model house you choose.  Rather than walking off of the house deck hoping to fall into one's boat, folks tend to build a deck at water level.  I did so, but the not-quite-matching deck edges and pilings drove me insane, so I went with a completely separate floating boardwalk.

You can also see that, using the railings from the content pack & Blush's post, I added a little corner fence to the Havana deck to keep folks from plunging into the river, should they have a not-quite-clean dismount from the deck chair.  I think this type of design, which you see on a WHOLE LOT of OL homes, would be much nicer using a Linden post linked to the railings you gave us, and with a lower deck that matches the upper!

If anyone's interested, here are the "secret" areas on the old Linden Homes Continents:

From the landing site, there are 2 options:

1) Cheat, and use a tiny avi, and walk over the rocks to fall in a tiny gap

2) Head to the lighthouse in the NE corner, and head down the staircase until you come to a solid wall.
At this point, look for the "seashell" on the wall, and click it to open the secret door (there is another on the other side)
Follow the secret passageway back along until you enter the caves, you come to a locked door with a combination lock - the lock is very difficult to line up
so the suggestion is to cam to the other side of the door to use the button there, or sit on one of the thrones.

When you are inside the secret cavern, there is another secret passageway., look for the green panel on the floor at

and click on the floor in the water.  Go down the stairs to the skeleton and click on his
    briefcase

I have made the free one at the shop mod. So if you have one of the old no mod versions run by the shop and pick up a new one. It's now in the back of the shop with all the other gifts.

Thank you for the good reminders. I went back to Cape Ekim just now and picked up the Professor's "Case closed" and "Another egg" - Do you have a way to over-ride the 'no direct teleport' that I find in some locations? I'm afraid I cheat and use the 'sit here' option to get in locked places (losing my patience in my elderhood).
