Do not show: Demo items doesn't work. I keep getting loads of demo's in list when looking for things to buy

the Marketplace search engine is a bit limited and only filters out whole words. Like DEMO and demo. It doesn't filter out partial matches like _demo_ or mydemo. So some people do this quite deliberately to game the search, and stick their demoes into our view when we have chosen for that to not happen

maybe one day Linden will filter out partial matches, hope so

What's being talked about by the OP is the actual check box option, not a search box modifier.

With that in mind, OP? Not all Demos are flagged/listed as such on the MP. If it simply has "Demo" (or a variant) in the name of the listing, that checkbox won't do a single thing.
