Margaritaville palm trees are a very distinctive light green color, with light gray trunks (seen here in simple Nams Optimal lighting).  Most makers have darker foliage, which doesn't look BAD, but I'm wondering - has anyone found palms with something like the moles' light green foliage?

Failing that, please do share your favorite Margaritaville palm trees and plants  🥰

Yeah, my final solution was with Hayabusa palms, using an Autumn foliage choice (there are 4 or 5 choices for each season) and a lighter palm bark that I bought on the MP.  In this photo, the four little guys in the middle are mine, the palms on the outside are Linden palms (which I WISH they would include in the content creation pack!!!)

Best one's I've found are the Coconut Palms at Kawukewa. Tone wise, they blend in really well with the Linden palms. 😀

I've been around and around with this one, struggling to find something that was of reasonable quality and not too much of a contrast from the mole palms.  I have tried all of those listed, and several that aren't, but ultimately, I settled on these from 3D Trees (Nadine Reverie), which have been around forever.

They are sculpts, not mesh, so if that bothers you, you may want to choose something else.  They are low LI, and it is unlikely that anyone is going to use so many as to cause any problems typically associated with sculpts.  The only sculpt related issue I have experienced is that they sometimes take a little longer to rez than mesh trees.  They are not animated if that is your thing, but they easily could be with a simple script addition.

If you use these straight out of the box, you will be disappointed, as they are way too big, and the textures need considerable tweaking.  I found some bark and palm frond textures on the MP, and played with both until I could live with the results.  Your mileage may vary.

Feel free to IM me in world if you'd like to see them in person.

I had just come to the same conclusion!  Nadine's trees are often very good, and her palms are the right shape.  The mole palms have  upward-reaching fronds, and most tall palms on the market have bowl-shaped foliage.  I'm not OCD, but when I see a home with a lot of bowl-shaped tall palms amongst the mole landscaping, it makes my eye twitch jist a little.

Might you be willing to share the frond/bark URLs? It is often easy to retexture plants that have the shape you want.  To fill a lot of space I had on mainland, I changed a pack of Reid Parkin plants from rhododendron-looking (yes, that pack) to dense bushes and made them seasonal (I even made a HUD, which is an ergonomic nightmare, don't ask).

Personally, I'm not religious about mesh.  There are some applications where a well-designed sculpty is just the best answer.  Large expanses of ground cover, large trees, lots of hedges - sculpty LI can't be beat by mesh, and if the sculpty is well crafted, it holds its own visually.

How much LI would Nadine's Live Oak be, done in mesh?  When you see the tree inworld, tho, it is not only huge, but personally I find it beautiful.

Bark:  https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Texture-Freakz-8-Bark-Textures-1/4802428

Both had to be tweaked in GIMP.
