Object Spamming THROUGH Block

Hello, I have an issue where objects are spamming me in local chat via object IM and despite blocking not only the object in question, all the other objects at the location, and the owner, I am still seeing messages in the local window in red text spamming about an item or sale or whatever. 

Please understand, I click on the name of the object and it already reads as blocked. I have reported these objects and owner repeatedly for spam to no avail. I need a solution because this is becoming intolerable.

The item is indeed blocked. You're seeing that in chat because you've enabled the setting in your 'Conversations - Nearby Chat' window to view chat from people and objects that you've muted:

Click the button shown in your screenshot that is highlighted (the one with a red slash through it) and you won't see the spam anymore.

What happens is that your viewer doesn't stop the spam from being sent to you, or (in the case of text spam) being received by you; it just stops you from seeing it. The 'show muted chat' button is an override you can toggle if you want to.

You only need to mute the owner of the object, not the object itself or any other objects in the area, so you may as well go through your block list and remove those other objects.

(Incidentally, it's a no-no to 'name and shame' someone on the forum - even someone you believe is behaving badly. I suggest removing the screenshot in your post. You can click the three dots in the top-right of your post and edit it to remove the screenshot, for up to 24 hours after you've made the post.)

Thank heavens, this has been driving me up the wall for weeks. I don't know how that setting got changed but I'm definitely going to fix it.
