to start, the under 1000 has the caveat I am using my current GTX 1080 for now
I recently completed the rebuild of my PC - DYI. And seriously, anybody can do a DYI nowadays - so much helpful info on youtube to get you going

My 'new' PC has:

Intel 1-7 10700k (10th Gen) While I didn't really need the 'K' variant (overclockable) version BestBuy had it on sale for 329

Noctura D15s CPU fan cooler

ASUS Z-490-A MB

32gig, 3600mhz DDR4 RAM (16 gig is fine for most builds)

750Watt power supply (I wanted to give my kid the old machine so I ordered a new PSU otherwise what was in there was fine)

a New ATX case (same, giving the old to the kid, otherwise old case woulda worked fine)

Added a Samsung 970 1T SSD nv.me HD (better than my Crucial 1T - kept that for additional storage)

First impressions in SL

I would say it is probably about a 25% improvement in terms of FPS over the 'old' on average. Biggest difference I notice is the CPU is maybe at like 10% with 'everything on' and the GPU is really working, whereas before the CPU was usualy at about 30% use and the GPU the same or less in most cases . Even in places like FogBound Blues (Second Life's built in load tester lol) I can stay around 17-25fps with everything on. Anything really above 15FPS is generally acceptable in SL I have found

Maybe when GPU prices calm down some Ill upgrade the 1080, but for now it still does a decent job

i7-10700f. 32GB RAM. A 3070 video card (yup!). Sitting on an uncrowded beach at 256 drawn and High graphics and 45fps. Then again, my monitor is pushing 4K UHD pixels as well. Way better than my 2017 27" Retina iMac let me tell you.

well graphics cards these days cost more than an entire computer! i am still in 1080p but maybe later this year GPU prices may return to normal again and i can upgrade but for now the gtx1080  is working ok enough
