For the past 10 months I've been teleworking from home and it has taken its toll on my health. A sore back and carpal tunnel syndrome are my primary maladies. (Thankfully I've not gained any weight!)  To correct the ergonomic disaster that was my 20 year old desk I recently ordered a variable height desk:

New standing desk - 29.5 inches

This is sitting height, 29.5 inches

New standing desk - 42 inches

This is standing height, 42 inches.

Full range is 27 to 47 inches.

So far so good. I am able to rest my arms on the desk as I type and use the mouse. Quite the mess of wires, I'll square them away soon enough.

I like the desk! You and I use the same style of cable management. 😆

My husband and I put in height adjust desks when we remodeled the office a while back.  Unfortunately, not all of the various cables were long enough for the desk to be at standing height and so new cables had to be ordered and things rewired.   Total PITA, but the desks are really nice.

I'm used to multiple monitors side-by-side, but have never used any above/below each other.  That might take me some getting used to - as far as cursor movement between the screens.

what kind is it and how much was it.  that's my style of desk right there.

The ones we bought were very similar to Go's, but had a height range of 24.5-50" and had 4 memory slots.  Ours were about $1000.00 each, roughly 3 years ago.  They were from Bush Business Furniture, which has a variety of sizes (length & width).

Cool!

For lumbar support have you ever tried a lumbar back cushion?  I've used a lumbar cushion for at least 20 years and could not sit at any kind of keyboard in any kind of computer chair without a lumbar back cushion.  Your best bet is to ask your doctor to prescribe one because those are the best kind but you can find them on the internet as well.  The kind I've used is in the link below.  I also had carpel tunnel syndrome...wore wrist splints at night for about one month fifteen years ago and have not had one problem since and it's fifteen years later and still no problems.  The wrist splints cured my carpal tunnel completely.  I do not know if I am a lucky one who had it caught early, however.  But the wrist splints were not that uncomfortable to wear at bedtime for a month and it worked!  Ask your doctor about prescribing the wrist splints too if you don't see a lot of improvement without them.  Also doing the exercise stretches in the link below can help alleviate so much back pain.  Ask you doctor if you can see a physical therapist and learn the stretches for the spine in the link below.

I need a desk that is perpendicular to the ground and so it can be suspended above me while I lie down in bed. We have sitting desks and standing desks. Why not laying down desks? Somehow my computer has to be tied down to the desktop so it doesn't fall on me. Also, the keyboard and mouse will have to held down. I use a trackball actually so it can be just glued into place.

I've since swapped positions of the monitors. 27in on the left and dual 24in on the right. The left and lower right are fed from my GTX-1080 and the upper right via a USB adaptor. I only use the USB monitor for when I am actually teleworking. It is very nice having that extra real estate.

I recently looked at getting a new desk myself, including adjustable ones like that. I couldn't find any decent desks that could support the weight I wanted. The PC case I have, Thermaltake's Tower 900, alone is probably heavier than most people's entire setups. I wound up mounting six aluminum legs to an old door after trimming the door height down just a little.

Used the doorknob hole to run cables. Worked out nicely. Meant I miss out on nifty features like adjustable height, but I was able to build the whole thing to exactly the size and height I wanted anyway. And it meant I was able to drill holes and mount monitor arms to it without feeling like I was wrecking a nice desk.
