I can not create an auction

I want to sell the land at an auction. I follow the instructions, I go to "My places", but there is no way to create an auction.

Yeah, this functionality caused enough trouble that it was disabled soon after it was introduced. They gave the impression they intended to bring it back someday, but that was a while ago now.

While residents can't put their parcels on the Auctions page, you can still offer your land for sale. Just open the About Land window and follow the prompts. You can, in effect, do a sort of reverse auction by setting a high price initially.  If no one bites, lower the price a bit each week until the parcel sells.
