Question

I have had textures I made for myself and my store copied. I am relatively new to the structure of second life reporting. I feel as if second life is allowing people to steal with no consequences for it. This is ridiculous. I will be boycotting second life if this continues because I feel as if the lack of care for your users artwork and work in general is reckless. There needs to be more care for the people who spend time making things for themselves, please second life stop allowing people to use illegal viewers.

My question is:

How can I report someone for stealing from me I have had things stolen on several occasions and there has been no response to my reports?

You'll have to file a DMCA complaint with LL:

You have to legally file the paper work that littleme pointed out before anything can be done and it's not copybotting,  so file the dcma for proper action to be taken, if you do not,  there's not much you can do,  make sure you have your ducks in a row when filing it too, as it requires real life information.

There is little anyone in the digital world can do about theft of textures, music, movies, or anything digital.

The music and media world has spent billions of dollars (US$) attempting to devise a protection system to keep people from stealing music and movies. Game companies the same.

Read: A Brief History of Software Protection and Licensing - The TL:DR is that for 40 years the various industries have been trying to come up with an anti-theft system and failing.

Once one learns how the digital world works they realize the way one protects digital media is to keep it away form users. Plus no Exposure to the Internet. Makes it really hard to sell.

To date the best scheme is to make the software dependent on a remote server that keeps track of whether you are a licensed user. Works well for games and streaming TV. Not much use for something like a texture or 3D model.

So all digital media is going to be stolen. There is no way to stop that. Of course the uninformed (I'm being PC) always think there has to be SOME WAY and reveal their naivety and lack of education. The young are ignorant. But, with age they get over it. There is hope for the OP.

It is only AFTER stuff has been stolen that anything can be done. Catch the thief and prosecute. Thus the DMCA for digital media.

The Lab only gets involved when a legal action like the DMCA has been filed. Otherwise they have to sort out who is lying and stealing. You can make an original texture. I like it. I say you stole from me and ask the Lab to take it away and give it to me. That is called gaming the system. The Lab has about as good a system as one can have and avoid having it gamed. But it isn't perfect and scammers file fake DMCA complaints.
