Need help on a half screen record issue

I recently bought a 49" monitor. When I did my last video it never occurred to me to check settings with the change. When I went to edit the clips, its "off center" so even though I was focused on the subject, it only recorded like the left half of the screen. Are any of those clips are salvageable at all? Is there a setting I can click to make the entire thing show or did it just record the left half? I am hoping it recorded the whole screen but only showing left half so I can fix it. 

I have been able to go back in and get the settings right now, after the fact... but really hoping anyone knows how to recover the clips I have saved to show the full screen. I am willing to run them thru any program needed. Thanks!!!
