I have been setting Windlight on my mainland parcel by entering text similar to this in the Parcel Description...

/*Windlight Sky @ 0m to 4084m: "Midnight" Sky @ 4084m to 4085m: "[TOR] NIGHT - Under a yellow moon" Sky @ 4085m to 4100m: "Coastal Sunset"*/

It seems broken now with EEP and upgrading my FS viewer to the EEP compatible version...

Can anyone point me to information about how this is done now...?

Ā  Ā I haven't tried it yet, but I saw the button for it .. So I'll try it right now and let you know if it works. Live, as it were. Well, not that I'll hit 'submit' before I know the result - but I shan't erase! ... Not that anyone would ever know if I did.

Ā  Ā Aha! Found it.

Ā  Ā It's in the About Land window, on the far right.Ā

Something I've wondered about... maybe it only comes up on Mainland (but I doubt it)... in setting a new sky for one altitude of a parcel (say, by drag&droppingĀ from an Inventory Settings folder), all the higher altitudes seem to get the new Sky. Two questions:

  1. Am I just doing it wrong? It seems crazy that the higher altitudes would be affected like that.
  2. How can I get "(region environment) back on the higher altitudes? Am I correct in assuming that, If I explicitly apply the default sky to an altitude on the parcel, a change to the region's environment will no longer affect the parcel's environment at those explicitly defaulted altitudes?

I can't test this on Mainland cuz I have no control over region environments, but I understand the Mainland environments were loaded wrong and will all be magically replaced at some pointĀ (but maybe with the same as that explicit default? dunno).

I haven't tested this either but IN THE BEGINNINGĀ  there were designated heights for the four vertical regions you could change. So "logically" if you only wanted to change one height of the four, then you would need to change those ABOVE the one you wanted to keep --Ā  BACK to your default ground level.Ā  Just a guess and I have no idea what the height designations turned out to be in the end.Ā  I was paying attention to this in the beginningĀ  as two or three years ago I had various platforms at LEA7 and was trying to work out what "windlights" could be used to encompass the group of platforms within the various designated heights.Ā  So you might give that idea a try if you haven't.Ā

Ā

Imagine someone who has played with this more actually KNOWS and that would be better than a guess for sure :D

It is a little confusing, the setup of EEP divided into like 3 places. As I understand it, if you do not script the EEP, you have to define the levels in About Land->->Environment->Use Region Settings->"myEEP_name"

Now, when I played around EEP and tried to set different EEP on different levels, in order to get back to default, I used the above About Land->->Environment->Use Region Settings->Default.

Further, I used Phototools->Env->Personal Lighting - clicked the X to clear any personal defined lighting.
