I've spent about 1000L trying to find socks that work like socks should! I just want some basic socks that are skin-tight, preferably fitmesh, that aren't thigh-high, high-foot, or covered in ribbons. Help me please? I can find plenty of system socks but I need socks just for Maitreya or Belleza.

Check MP for older system type socks.  If your new body is set for BOM those would be perfect.  The systems ones should work on maitreya. Unless the mesh socks are specifically made for shoes, you might have trouble hiding them with shoes.

Assuming that your Maitreya body is set up for BoM, you can use those system socks. Maitreya has two BoM add-on pieces you need to use for that:

Once you're wearing the Add-On Parts, add the HUD for it. Then click one of the 'toe caps' options:

When you do that your toes will meld together into a solid 'toe cap' shape, so that if you then add the system layer sock it will look exactly like a proper sock, rather than a 'toe sock'.

I'm afraid to get into bakes on mesh after last week's glitchfest at my favorite bar where several people's avatars were smoke for the day because they had bakes on mesh stuff going on.

Then you should look for a sock applies for maitreya.  Finding mesh socks to.fit inside shoes they weren't made.for may be difficult.

Something like this might work for you.

That was an SL thing that was fixed shortly after it started.  SL will always have little "glitches" like that at one point or another..  we just wait them out.  And FYI I was fully BOM that day and everyone saw me perfectly.  So I do not think it was a problem specific to BOM users as a few of my friends were orange clouds and they were not using any BOM stuff.

How did my name end up on that quote?  Curious

I am still using 3.1 as I am a lazy gal and didn't see any reason to update BUT I had this issue last night so happy to know there is a fix. Found it in 5.1 too :D  Thanks.

@Foggypebble Muircastle

Versov has Comfov socks that are highly customizable in color and in style (anything from ankle sock to just below the knee), however the hud has a bit of learning curve at least for me. Hiemal also has flat foot socks. Not sure if its still set up like this, but basically you hold on to the demo of the mesh sock and purchase a hud for different textures. Sakura has some socks at the newest Access event as well. I own 2 of 3 of these, and the tighest fitting ones I think are the Versov.

When I got the demo and bought textures for hiemel the pink logo on the leg remained. Too bad because they were the next fitting socks I’ve found. I’ll check out the first socks you suggested. Thanks!

Reign also has some very cute mesh sock options if you’re wanting mesh - the no-shows are some of my favorite and I frequently pair them with Reign’s Slides and Krockz when I’m really trying to emphasize my homebody experience. You just need to be wary about demoing the shoes you wear on top of them.
