Real Private Rentals home?

sorry no clue if this is the right spot to post this but. is their any true private rentals out there? did a little test here and there only to find that I can still cam my alt or other people. just trying to find a place where you can't see me, and i can't see you. any ideas or is this hopeless?

You can do that on any parcel that you own or rent.   Just stand in the parcel, use World >> About Land >> Options, and UNCHECK the box that says "Avatars on other parcels can see and chat with avatars on this parcel."

Or it could be the entire region.  That is, a region that is not subdivided into smaller chunks is just one big parcel.

That's pretty much answered in my first response.  If you carve one one small parcel from the entire region, the remaining part of the region is, by definition, another parcel.  It may be under water, but it's still a parcel and it belongs to whoever owns the entire region. On the Mainland, that's Linden Lab. Theoretically, if LL wanted to lose a lot of potential income by creating a watery region with one small island in the middle, they could (but they don't).  If you bought an entire region yourself, then yes, you could create that small island parcel and make the watery part around it impassible.  Or, more commonly, if you buy a private estate it is by default surrounded by the impassible world ocean, so your entire estate is an island.

Yup, although not weekly. Land fees are paid to LL monthly.

That's certainly one way to do it, although the Auction system has been out of action recently.  Most people buy land directly from another resident, because they usually get a better price that way than they would get by buying land from Linden Lab.  You can look at the LAND forums to get a feel for what's available at any time.

Make sure turn on acess list to prevent others from crossing the boder of your parcel. Because once they are at the same parcel like you, you can been seen.
I would recommend you to get a full private sim with not other direct neighbor region attached to yours. Set up ban lines and you are fine.

Most of those 60L rental type places you probably can't since they stack them one on top of the other.  I don't think there is a way to hide on those.  If you rent a private parcel on a private estate or are premium and buy land on mainland, you can set privacy as @Rolig Loonsaid.  

Eta. In the 60L type places, you're just renting the box not the land.

ok so lets pretend i upgraded. a parcel is just a small piece of land on the region right? is their a way to have a small parcel surrounded by inaccessible land/water or is that reserved only for large regions. also if i do upgrade. then what. i'll have to buy the parcel and pay weekly right? and from what i can find i'll have to bid for one at the auction correct?

No, there are actually several ways you can have a parcel with privacy, and many of them aren't all that expensive.  Here's the deal...

• As Rolig said, ANY parcel can have privacy set.  If you do that, people on other parcels can't see or hear people on your land, and you cannot see or hear them, either.
• A lot of landlords will let you set this privacy on a rental place.  If you're not sure, contact the owner before renting and ask about it.
  • Most rentals are by the week, although some will rent on a monthly basis.  Again, read the fine print and if you don't find the answer, ASK.
• You probably cannot have a small parcel surrounded by "inaccessible water".  To do that you would need to own or rent an entire region.  The least expensive way to do that would be to rent a Homestead region from an estate owner.  That'll cost you about $150 USD per month...probably not what you're looking for!
• One of the least expensive ways to own your own private parcel is to get a Premium membership ($11.99 per month, less if you pay in advance by the quarter or the year) and get a free Linden Home.  Yes, you will have neighbors...but you can set the Privacy option to make yourself invisible to them.
• You don't have to upgrade to Premium, though.  As a Basic member, you can rent land on the Mainland, or on a Private Estate region.  Check around, some rentals are cheaper than paying for a Premium membership.  But as Rowan pointed out, the very cheapest rentals probably have multiple skyboxes crowded together on one parcel and won't afford you the privacy you're looking for.  Just check the place out carefully before paying the rental box, and ASK FIRST if you have questions!

oops, should have check back sooner. oh well. anyway i upgraded per month so now what? how do i go about buying land? i don't want to rent from another resident nor do i want a LL home unless that be my better option.

I suggest taking Lindal Kidd's free class on owning and managing land, offered each Saturday at Caledon Oxbridge University, in world.  It will give you an excellent overview, and you will have a chance to ask all the specific questions you want.  Visit their campus (use your Search function) to see the full class schedule.  There may be other things you'll want to learn.

Meanwhile, as I suggested earlier, you can start lurking in the Land forums to see what's available from other residents.  Renting and buying are really quite similar in many ways.  The only big difference is that if you buy land, you will be paying monthly fees (which feel like rent) directly to LL instead of to another resident.  As a Premium member, you are free to use your Land Fee waiver to cover the monthly land fees on any Mainland parcel (up to 1024 sq m), including a Linden Home, if you choose.  You cannot use the fee waiver on private estates or to pay rent to other residents.
