AfroKweenM Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 I didn't see this when I previewed the skin before purchasing. Is there anything I can do about it? I'm wearing Genus Classic Face W001 1
Wulfie Reanimator Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 Are you absolutely sure you're not wearing any kind of makeup either as a BOM layer or on the mesh itself? Seems like that'd be pretty hard to miss.
Janet Voxel Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 It looks like you may have to play with the shine a little, too little can have an ashy look, too much can look like you swam in Crisco. Play with your specularity. 2

AfroKweenM Posted October 15, 2020 Author Posted October 15, 2020 Okay I figured it out y’all! it turns out the face glow was the cause of the weird lighting on the skin. It’s now completely gone. This forum is so useful and y’all are great. Thank you all 💕 2

The effects will show up more strongly on darker skins so if you've recently switched from a lighter skin you'll certainly notice it more. But you don't have to turn materials or advanced lighting off completely. Depending on the make of head you have, there is probably a slider on the hud to control the level of glossiness. So you can just dial it down a bit, rather than turn it off entirely. I'm sure that skin will look absolutely lovely with just a subtle shine. 1

When BOM gets fixed I'll give that a try ☺️
