Ejected from land I was never at?

So I logged in and received a saved IM/notification that I was ejected from a certain place. The thing is, I was never at that particular place, and was in a completely different sim when I logged off. Is this a common occurrence or something I should be alarmed at? Thanks in advance.

Are you sure it said a place and not a group.  I've received messages while offline that I've been ejected from such and such group.

It is possible that you were ejected from a group instead of land.
I have been ejected from groups for various reasons, most often it's because the group was about to be deleted.

I double-checked and it was a group I was ejected from, and yep, it was because the owner was going to delete said group. I guess I panicked because it was from one of my favorite creators on SL lol. Thanks so much Rowan and Fritigern!
