aerisearth Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 I've never tried to add a stream to any parcel but wanted to know if it was possible to add a station hosted on radion.com to a land? I assume I use the url, but I'm not sure. Has anyone else tried to see if streamed stations from radio.com work?
Rolig Loon Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Not personally, but I know that it can be done. Read http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Streaming_Music#Streaming_music_into_Second_Life_from_an_Online_Radio_Station . 1
Ceka Cianci Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 you need the server station address..it'll look something like this.. http://212.83.172.11:8172/stream I usually get mine from here.. https://directory.shoutcast.com/ Then I'll download the station to my player and get the server link from the info and then add that address to a notecard and save any good ones I get and then add those addresses to my land stream in SL.. 1 1

Thanks for this info! I did find my preferred radio station there. I did download to VLC player and am listening now on my desktop but I've got a possibly dumb question...where is the server link? I don't see anything that looks like the example you gave me. I must not be looking in the right spot.

There should be some section that gives you the station address or file information or link information.. Edited September 25, 2020 by Ceka Cianci
Ceka Cianci Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 (edited) I went ahead and downloaded that player to see where the info would be.. Once you download a station it should show up in your player with the station name.. All you have to do is go to the TOOLS menu at the top of the player, click that open and then go to media information and it will pop a window open for that file.. at the very bottom of that window that pops up, you will see the station server address.. Just copy and then paste it to a note card.. you should be good to go after that.. Edited September 25, 2020 by Ceka Cianci 2
