Depending on the timespan (Usually the mornings and sometimes specific hours in the afternoon), I can't seem to log in at all (stuck in Logging in, sometimes in Connecting to region). This morning I had the same issue, and somehow managed to get through, but my ping was really high (up to 380ms) and my packet loss was rounding 43%, resulting in getting stuck while jumping or moving, animations not playing, inventory taking forever to load, messages not getting through... etc

Lately my connection with Second Life seems quite messed up for some reason, I'd think it's my connection, but it seems to happen only with Second Life. At times, I also get on the Second Life console the error "503 Service Unavailable" while trying to log in to a simulator, or "Timed out"

I don't know if it should be related or not, but secondlife.com and status.secondlifegrid.net seem to be working fine during those issues. I can also log in to secondlife.com fine.

Edit: I did forget mentioning I'm in Spain.

SL itself (as opposed to the associated websites) is very sensitive to poor or unstable internet connection. I had a period of time where my connection was poor due to a broken cable in the street, and I would intermittently lose connection for a fraction of a second at a time. While browsing the web I never even noticed it; the browser just continues re-loading the page when connection is resumed.  But in-world, SL doesn't seem to do that as easily, and if connection is broken it just gives up instead of re-trying once connection is resumed.

I would suggest doing a traceroute on your connection to SL's servers and see where the high ping and packet loss is bottlenecking. If it's close to home, there may be an issue with your ISP.

It seems to time out after an address located in the US (Los Angeles). As I said, this problem only seems to happen with Second Life, and I do more than just browsing the web. Even when playing games in the US servers in other games, my connection seems so much more stable than here. I mentioned the secondlife.com website because I figured it was a good example to see if the second life service was down entirely or not.
