Display Name ... ?

Firstly, joined over 13 years ago & have been away a looong while, so feel like a complete noob.  Just joined a group & now their name is displaying above mine & I just cannot see how/where to change that !  So help ... ??     Cheers

go to the groups tab and find NONE and activate it

To change your active group:

1. Choose Communicate  > Groups or right-click on your avatar and choose My Groups.
2. Right-click on the name of the group you wish to make active.
3. Click Activate.

Sometimes those group tags can be useful, the group I tend to keep active when i am wandering about puts "art gallery owner" over my head.

Just make your own group (and join with an alt) and write whatever you want.

Go to groups and click on "none" and then it will show not group name. If you want to hide your name too, then just go to general and there's an option to hide it.  I use firestorm so it might be different in other viewers. 😛 Have a nice night/morning. ... 😆  ... day.

What you're describing is a group tag. Display name is something different. It's a nickname tag to annoy others with unreadable fonts. If you had chosen your username right, you won't need a display name.
