Hello, my name is Skye and I have been on second life for roughly 2 weeks now and I want to find a job. I am 18 and I have no experience and would like to make money for a stable income. I am available 3-8 hours a week and would love to learn and make friends. I have some roleplay experience and I've work before in Gta rp.

To make money in SL you have two options. You can build things and sell them, or you can become a sex worker.

Um no...

There are many ways to make lindens besides build and sell or become an escort.

  • Buy and sell Land (needs startup cost)
  • Be a host
  • Be a customer service rep
  • Join a RP SIM (opens up a ton of opportunities)
  • Be a DJ

Just to name a few other ideas.

Like Zack said......um, no.  Although I would include dancer at a club.  These do not always include sexual activity.  Some emoting skills usually and a good personality go a long way.  It's just finding the right club.

I've never worked in a club with no sexual activity And i wouldn't want to.

Yes, Pearl.  We all know that but there are clubs out there in the vastness of SL that do not have sexual activity. Even if the club itself does have that type of activity going on, not ALL of them require it from their dancers.  Maybe you should get out more.often.

And that's why the vast majority of people just upload lindens.  I work in RL so.I don't have to in SL.

I work in SL for pleasure. The $L are just part of that. Any money I make here is nothing compared to RL

It's not, and Ii don't want it to be. I'm adding my two cents worth because of experience.

As Zack has been here 15 years and myself, over 10, I think we might have a tad more experience.  I know several people who "make" things to sell and do enough business to pay the rent.  They've purchased full perm furniture, animations and did their own textures and have done extremely well.

We're just saying, there is more to do besides having slex with random people to earn money.

I'm not disagreeing. I'm simply talking about the sex industry. That's what I have experience with here.  I can't comment on other things I don't know about,

There was a club I pretty much lived at the first 6 mths in SL.  They had a few dancers there but no sex in the club itself.  They had little private areas tucked away here and there but it was one of those clubs with a DJ and themes every couple of hours.  They also had a voting board.  I'd buy something cheap off MP for the theme and get on the board.  I didn't make a ton of money but it was fun and I met a lot of people.  I do remember the dancers doing pretty well, too.  They had great emoting skills so people would tip them just to see what they would say.  I don't see as many places like that anymore, sadly.

Mostly here they want the avi to be 30 days old. And I would say, SL is not something where you join as a newbie and need a job. SL is much more than this. Try exploring different places, and clubs, you'll make friends when you explore. There's more to it then just working.

Agree. I never earned lindens here by having sex, lol. I work as a host, as far as, nudity is allowed a little, but no sexual activity is allowed. Have been working as a host and it's been almost an year. Still trying to look at the other side, such as a DJ.

And this is thread is degenerating. Only the first few posts are actually relevant to the initial question. Instead of attacking each other, lets try and help the person who started the thread and asked an honest question!!!

Skyhope1, If you are interested in being a sex worker, I can help you with that .The other suggestions are definitely wonderful. Look to yourself and see what your interests are. That way it's not "work".

Why?

Because there are a lot of other ways to work. Sexual activity and building stuffs are not the only way to earn lindens. And Zack already mentioned it above what are the other ways.

You want to work where sexual activity is involved, that's totally your choice. But this isn't the only job or way to earn.
