What is good etiquette? Posting in 2 or 3 threads, or stick to one? Today, Now and Vanity.

I heard once that Vanity was for more staged, edited, photoshopped images and Today was for simpler images. If that is the "rule", nobody cares. I know it is hopeless to have rules, but I heard that was the idea.

I am not sure why somebody decided one million views was enough, so there had to be a new thread. I see that most people still post in the thread that has over one million views anyway, so what was the point?

I do not want to swarm threads with identical pictures, but maybe I should not overthink it and just do it, like others.

Moderators would close the long thread if it was too "heavy" to open, or whatever reason some had to open a new thread.

In long threads, it will always be some discussions besides posting images. It is no way to keep it out even if a new thread is started.

I think it is fun to have other "themed" threads, they die out after 1 or 2 weeks of themselves.

One thing i'd like to see change is the way some try to go on the egde of allowed content; how can i show as much as possible of the merchandise without getting removed for indecent/adult pics.
It's not the catalogue for a escort service here.

Compared to some posters the butchers vitrines show less meat.

I gather that "Now" was created because "Today" had too much side-chat, arguing and re-posting/commenting of other people's pics; those things are supposed to be not allowed in "Now".

I tend to post only in "Today" though; I figure not many people will see it if I post just in one of the others. But if I have more than one pic to share, I'll put one in "Today" and one in "Now". I don't post in "Vanity" because I don't photoshop my images, at least not very much.

Originally most of those threads had a core idea when they were made, but that fizzled out after a while, which is unfortunate. I only started posting pictures, because there were suddenly other threads than the Vanity thread, which always seemed to be "too polished" to make me feel comfortable posting my unedited inworld pictures.

Not all of us who dress sexy are escorts.

I think the difference between the "...Today" and the "Vanity" threads has disappeared over time.  The "...Today" thread was the more casual one, and I don't do elaborate setups, post-processing or credits about what I'm wearing, so that is the one I mainly posted in, prior to the "...Now" thread being created.

If I post in both the "...Today" and the "...Now", I post a different picture in each.  I try to do not only a different picture, but a different location and/or look, so it's not just a different pose from the same place/look.  Then there are days where I don't take any pictures, or only take landscape  pictures, so I don't post in either.

I didn't worry too much about the conversations or the re-quoting of pictures - it seems to come and go on it's own, so I didn't really feel like it was worth getting upset about.

That's exactly what making the superfluous "Now" thread created. The audience got divided. Some post in the original "Today" thread. Some post in "Now" thread. Some post exactly the same picture in both threads - because the audience got divided. And some post in both threads but use different pictures.

I tend to stick posting general avatar pictures only in the original "Today" thread - it is still excellent thread for avatar pictures.

I tend to post in the "Today" thread as well and I tend to take the picture right before posting.  Only a couple of times have I posted a picture I have used on a blog post.

I am in agreement about spamming the same picture in multiple threads.  That being said...I also don't like the trend of starting a new thread to promote a picture that happens in the Art, Music, Photography section.

Maybe we have a different understanding of what "sexy" can be. Still, that doesn't make someone advertising themselves for paid sexual services.

There is only one escort on the forum. Only one that tells us about it at any rate.

Actually, at least two. One is just focused on marketing her blog more than her adult sidebusiness.

that's not what i meant/said.
I said some of those pics show the merchandise like it's a escort catalogue ..pick what you like and hire it. When it were just sexy pics you wouldn't get that feeling.

Ok, fair point, then I misunderstood you.

I went through the last five pages of the most recently active thread and honestly, I don't feel its that bad. Some pictures show a bit more skin, sure, but the forum guidelines keep the goods at least at the essentials covered. Of course, this is a littly sticky to discuss without pointing out pictures. That would probably just give birth to a new thread of pictures.

not going to mention specific users/pictures, and it's in different threads, not pointed to one. I think.. hope... the ones that post it know they do it :)

There's a picture thread for 18+ which some pictures would belong in more aptly. Making those considerations would be good etiquette imo.

But nothing on these forums is allowed to truely be +18 anyway?

News Flash!

It's 2020. Women don't care whether you "approve" or not. We don't give a flying you-know-what about how you "read" what we wear, or about your 1950s era attitudes to women who show "too much skin," because we are not posting our pictures for you. We are posting them for ourselves. And because they are our pictures, of our bodies, we are the ones who get to decide what is "too much." Our bodies, and our pictures of our bodies, do not, even notionally or hypothetically, belong to you: you get no say. We don't dress for you, we don't undress for you. You don't matter in this particular context.

And your comparison of women who do appear scantily clothed with meat hanging in a butcher's shop tells me all I need to know about your view of women.

You use the word "merchandise" with reference to women's bodies at least twice in your comments above. Seriously? We are not merchandise.

The fact that a woman decides to appear in a "sexy" photo, or is scantily clothed, does not mean she is "displaying the goods" for the potential consumption of people like you, because, guess what? We don't view our bodies, or ourselves, as "goods" on the marketplace. They belong to us. They will always belong to us.

Obviously, this is LL's platform: they get to decide what is "appropriate" or not. And their decisions are, I'm pretty sure, not based on the "ethics" of showing "too much skin," but rather corporate and PR decisions of how too much nudity might impact upon the perception of the platform.

But that's LL. Not you.

The Now thread was put up by Sara because of the drift, spamming and chat on the today thread. That just migrated across to the Now thread, and it's driving people away.

The Vanity thread was always low volume.

Now we just get multiple posts, and the spam continues. While that lasts, I won't bother much with the forums.

I totally agree with Scylla.
I'm someone who doesn't show a lot of exposed flesh just because I don't like it but not for this I critic who does.
The beauty of being different also resides in this ... as well as the freedom of women, or men, to be what they prefer to be.

The chat in the Today thread never bothered me, because I simply scroll past all posts that do not contain a pic.

Honestly, never could tell how one thread was different from the others. So I decided to stay with the Today thread. I haven't even looked at the other threads in a long time.

the words that I've read have brought my thoughts to the sentence that I've write and that I will correct in this way:
