Last week had some unfortunate deploy related issues and we were unable to promote the server versions we had intended. Because of those issues we do not have a stable release candidate to ship this week. We will not have a main channel roll on Tuesday morning. Wednesday morning we will continue with the regular RC channel rolling restarts.

Second Life Server (main channel)
There will be no main channel roll this week. You can all sit back and not wait for the rolling restart.

Second Life RC BlueSteel
This branch has the same changes to the People API as were here last week. This API was updated to handle friendship additions and removals as well as some infrastructural changes.

Second Life RC LeTigre
This channel is the same as LeTigre last week and contains Kelly's "maint-server" changes. This is mostly bug fixes and some logging changes to help us investigate some issues. The details are in the release notes.

Second Life RC Magnum
This project is getting the "mesh-prep" branch. This contains infrastructure and framework updates to get the grid ready for mesh. It does not include any mesh features or functionality. The physics engine has been updated and the 10cm gap between colliding objects has been removed for some objects.
The llCastRay() function has been included. It was disabled last week, but might ship enabled this week.

Snack Release Channel
This will keep Kelly's updated "mono2performance" project. More info to come.

We will be monitoring this thread during the next week so please feel free to post issues that you feel have been introduced by the new code. Please file a JIRA for issues you find and post the JIRA link into this thread. It really helps us out. When determining if issues are relevant or not research is key. Tracking down exactly the right situation where an issue is occurring greatly speeds up the development process to get fixes in place.
I appreciate your help. Have a good week!

OK. So the main Second Life channel won't get any rolling restarts this week? That's kinda odd. Will the post be made to the Second Life Grid status blog (http://status.secondlifegrid.net) regarding the rolling restarts on the RC channels later on tonight or Tuesday afternoon/evening? (I'm hoping by Tuesday afternoon/evening. My home I'm renting is in Tanglewood on the main Second Life Server channel, and thankfully, that won't be affected in this week's rolling restarts, even my shop in Little Blue Island (on main Second Life Server channel) won't be affected in the rolling restarts this week.

EDIT: Here's the server info in the About Second Life window for Tanglewood

ok, second week without a main channel roll, kinda bummed because a great many of us were looking to push updates for items using llRegionSayTo which is one of the fixes in line to roll.

is there a date set for a fix to the asset reporting of region status? is this a problem with the region conductor or the sim hosts themselves? (I note that scripted reporting of region status also seems affected, as I had a downed region that reported up, and continued to report as up even through a restart)....

I realize it doesn't make sense to try and manually verify correct status on each region in the main channel after a roll, I'm sure it's still a bear on the RC regions, with many complaints that would be multiplied on the main channel... just anxious to hear when we might expect resumption of main channel rolls.

Hi Void, I haven't heard of a bug about region status reporting.  If there isn't already a Jira issue about this problem, could you make one?   For what it's worth, I had a script run llRequestSimulatorData() with DATA_SIM_STATUS against a remote region just before it rolled, and it appeared to report the states (up -> stopping -> down -> starting -> up) correctly, as the sim restarted.

So far, it looks like today's deploy of Second Life RC LeTigre will get promoted to the main channel next week.

Maestro, it may have been a time warp issue, or a user generated crash that caused the lack of reporting. The region in question didn't budge from reporting up through the restart I requested via live help though... I just thought it might be related to the issues Oskar mentioned above and last week for main channel rolls... if it occurs again I will document and Jira the results.

This is really odd - my normal av (Hitomi Tiponi) has no problem accessing Magnum sandboxes but my tester av (Hitomi Canucci) gets the message 'Teleport failed.  You are not allowed into the destination'.  Only differences are that the tester does not have payment info on file and is not adult verified (the sandboxes are 'G' rated).  Anyone else having problems?

ETA: BTW loved your cool car there Oskar.

is the test alt in the second life beta group? I know the snack sandboxes were locked to them, perhaps Magnum got the same treatment?

Thanks Void - that was it :smileyhappy:.  It seems that all the RC sandboxes are now set to those group members.
