why does she sometimes hear streamed voices as chipmunks?

I have a friend who visits entertainment sims very often.  In one case only for just one entertainer, she hears his voice as if he were a chipmunk.  No one else in the venue hears him that way and she hears no one else there or elsewhere that way. Any ideas?

Oh, that happens to me every once in a while, usually the DJ will tell me to restart my media, as in, disable it and then enable it, media that is. Me, preferences, sound & media. I think sometimes it happens cause I just got there or the DJ's just switched over, not sure, but that's how I fix it anyways.
