Even if there was how would you stop someone from taking printscreens or capture video or even take a simple photo.

These things are not possible. Best thing to do is just play the game, don't act like an idiot if you are worried about such stuff and you will be fine.

Oh yeah, screenshots and videos.   So, there is nothing really but trusting.

I don't date or get involved other than friendship in SL.  I was in a 20-year marriage in rl and need a break from relationships, because even before my 20-year marriage, I was with someone almost 7 years.  So, that was pretty long and I need a break from it and have learned to like my freedom too much.  SL friendships are good.

I was just wondering but forgot about screenshots.

Yeah it's more of a trust thing if someone takes it seriously.

Personally never cared about such stuff or the SL only dating part so whenever some woman that we chatted asked for avatar photos/cuddles/dances/whatever (pixelsex isn't my thing either) i simply put the avatar to animate or gave her animation control rights and did other things more important related to my RL or even watched movies sometimes. Worrying about internet stuff isn't part of my character. (unless it involves money/business)

I'd say it's more an ethical question pertaining to escorts not a moral one.  Ethically, I don't think any escort/sex worker would consider it proper to post pics of clients.  Morally, they might think it's fine but would realize the impact it would have on their business.

His problem, not yours.

I agree with this. From time to time guys will ask me not to post any pictures of them with me, and That always makes me wonder why, and question whether I should be with them at all.

It's a very serious issue period even in instances where there is no money exchange BUT it's thought to be the start of a "romance" and then pictures of your avatar in all it's glory end up on FLICKR without your consent; and, again, doesn't have to include a money exchange where this could occur.

Any way to add a feature that blocks others from taking pictures of your avatar?   Just asking "is there a way...?".

Only two ways. Wear nothing but a full body alpha so that your avatar can't be seen at all or don't ever log in. Well three if LL were to completely remove avatars. Other than that, no there is no way to prevent someone from capturing an image of your avatar.

There is another way. It's called an alt.

I agree 100% with everything @Tari Landar has said and posted, being a judger myself!  But one thing missed in this whole debate...

Taking pictures is NOT easy, especially when they are pictures taken "in action", so to speak.  You need to get the angle and lighting right, and capture the "action" just at the right moment where everything is in just the right position and body parts are where they should be - not going into the bed or each other etc.  That takes so much time and concentration (been there, taken MANY action pics).

I would be pissed if I had paid you thousands for a pixel bone and instead of being the focus of your attention and you there to fulfill my needs you were dicking about with camera angles and trying to catch the right pic instead of dicking about with me.

I can only offer facts and here we go.
Flikr is the easiest of all "socials" to hack slash and bash to pieces.
If you think your images are safe? no matter what settings you use?
Let me tell you, you're wrong.
I do urge caution to protect yourself and others from.... well....
There are a gazillion new scams a day.
I wouldn't like to see you caught up in one quite frankly.
(we all have the odd, risque SL piccie here and there but you know, be careful).
🤔

Yeah. Flickr. I currently have an issue over there and their customer support sucks... even on their own pages with clear violations.

Yeah. Gazillion scams. My mind does not think that way and so my mind boggles with what people come up with.

Yeah. The odd piccie. LoL. Recently, it being late at night, I had insomnia, was bored, and perhaps had some chemical adjustments going, decided to go to one of the more :::cough::: risque-type Adult regions because I have never been and was perversely curious. So I tried things. It was only the next day that I realized, "Um, holy cats, anyone who was there (and there were a lot) could have snapped a photo and posted it god knows where, complete with my name tag over my head!" :)  I don't need a scam! I'm my own walking oops!

No, we don't. Please, don't assume everyone in SL has pixel sex or indulges (or participates) in "erotic/sensual" image taking. No one likes to be labeled something they aren't.

That doesn't stop anyone from taking a picture of the alt. We talking avatars, not accounts.

No it doesn't prevent taking pictures of the alt but it does prevent anyone looking at the pictures from identifying FairreLilette as the main account.

That wasn't her question.

I don't see any problem. All it takes are a few brain cells to keep yourself out of trouble. If you end up on an artistic Flickr image, why not just wear another wig and change your display name?

What if you run out of wigs?

But I’m suggesting 2 avatars, if you only take picture of one avatar you do not have a picture of the 2nd avatar. Thus blocking pictures of the 2nd avatar.

You're still not blocking both avatars from being imaged which is the whole point of Fairre's question. To block all of your avatars from being photographed. That can't be done other than the ways I've already said.

Or display names?

And what about the user name? It can't be changed every 7 days. Are people really going to pay the what, $40 or however much, it costs to change it?

I dunno. I feel like I'm shooting fish in a barrel or something. lol

Depends on how bad the pics are, I guess.

There are people who take these things seriously and others who don't so it really depends on how a person experiences SL.
For example me and a woman that we live close in RL used to take photos of our avatars together for her flickr , it's a nice way to spend some time during those boring winter/spring days.
So one of her SL ex's who was supposed to be a man but we figured out it was a woman in RL was acting like a nutjob, stalking, calling her and thinking that we were together in RL making theories based on SL flickr photos nonsense. At the end of the day you never know what kind of person you will deal with in the game (or online if it matters), what their mentality is, how (and why) they are thinking and experiencing things the way they do, etc.
So those who think of  SL as something serious should be careful and avoid putting themselves in trouble.
(those who don't care about it, won't give a sh*t anyway)

I laughed because it made me think of Senior portrait retakes. lol That would be senior year in high school aka 12th grade in the US too many decades ago. The last year of school before college/university.

The inference was whether we like it or not.
