So, when she logged on today she didn't see the increase in her L$ balance from your transfer?

Double-check the name they were sent to in your L$ Transaction History (just to confirm that you weren't a litter off or something with the name).

Have her check her L$ Transaction History for yesterday and today, in case the transfer went through but other transactions occurred afterwards which may have used the L$'s before she noticed the increase.

If they didn't show up in her transaction history, then you or she would need to contact support.  I don't know if this falls under Billing support, or a regular support ticket.

"IT" shows?  What shows?  If you open the Transaction History on your dashboard at secondlife.com >>> Account, you will see exactly how much you sent and to whom.  You friend should see the same transaction in her own dashboard.  There are a few easy ways to screw up:

1. Try to transfer L$ by clicking on your friend and selecting the PAY option, but don;t bother to check that you really clicked on your friend instead of the person standing next to her.

2. Find your friend's name in Search and select PAY, but don't realize that you sent to PamSmith1234 by mistake instead of PamSmith.  Lots of people have similar names.

3. Send to someone named PamSmith but forget that PamSmith is your friend's Display Name, not her login name. So it went to someone with the login name PamSmith instead.

4. Try to send L$ to the right person, but type L$10000 instead of L$1000 by mistake, and then ignore the fact that an error message says that you only have L$4600 in your account, so the transaction was canceled.

5. Send the right amount of money to your friend, but your "friend" says she never got it and wants you to send it again.  And then you never see your "friend" again.

You can track down all those possibilities and others by looking at your Transaction History.  Most of the time, if you discover your mistake there's not a thing you can do about it except feel really stupid.

I would consider Rolig's possibility #5.

However, before accusing your friend of trying to get a double payment, do the following:

  • Make a copy of the transaction details from your own $L Transaction History.
  • Paste them into a notecard
  • Send the notecard to your friend.  Tell her, "My logs show that I did pay you.  If you didn't get the money, call Linden Lab Billing at 800-294-1067 and give them the information from this notecard."
  • You can even offer to file mutual Support Cases.  You go first.  Include the data from your Transaction log.  Then have your friend do the same, including the data from THEIR Transaction log and referencing your Support Case as well.

If you have checked all of Rolig's possibilities, and are sure that you didn't make any mistakes, then DON'T pay her a second time, no matter what.  The problem is either with the system (unlikely!) or with your friend.

I didnt think about that either. I will have her do that too.

she should have seen that when checking the transfer history, the dashboard status is showing the right amount.

Yes, always check your account balances on your dashboard, not in the viewer.
