Impossible to state what the most played song on SL ever was because there are so many streaming services and thankfully most do not use the data in that way.

Probably more correct to say "A small sample of certain clubs using certain streaming services played this tune the most"

 

Then again this is probably just a play to send that video viewing stats up.

it gets even better as there is a freebie gesture in one of the gesture boxes at the freebie places, with a sound clip of this song in it

That one was even done in a lot of the dance clubs a lot as well..I remember we played it every night in GOL when I worked there.. Then would hear it when we would go clubbing after working at our club.. hehehe

Sure, why not. You can even use it to steam Ogg Vorbis to SL clients.

I didn't say you couldn't I just thought it was one of the minor stream vendors that never really took off

Perhaps, but more critically it's a GNU GPL v2 software project that is somewhat cross-platform compatible and free.
